Hello!

I’m Paulina, I love all things cashmere and I believe that almost anything can be cured with an iced latte. Very few things in life make me feel as happy as traveling and exploring new places and cultures. I’m here to share my experiences as well as my take on style, beauty, well-being, food and more.

MY CURRENT SKIN CARE ROUTINE

MY CURRENT SKIN CARE ROUTINE

Skincare has become very important to me over the past 2-3 years or so. Before that, I would only wash my face and use moisturizer like 3 times a week, and that was it. I’m grateful that I’ve never actually had problematic skin, just a few times when I’ve gotten some rashes/pimples, but nothing too terrible. Still, I noticed a huge difference as soon as I started taking skincare more seriously, my skin feels a lot more glowy and smooth, and I barely ever break out nowadays! I have combination skin and my T-zone does tend to get oily sometimes. Today I will be sharing the products I use to take care of my skin on a daily/weekly basis. I hope you find it useful!

So, to start off! Cleansers and makeup removers! This is one of the most important steps, since going to sleep with makeup on or not cleaning your face properly can lead to clogged pores, breakouts, and more.

So, on most days I will start off by removing my eye makeup with Clinique’s Take the Day Off Makeup Remover for Lids, Lashes and Lips. Once that’s done, I take off the rest with a makeup wipe. I like to use the Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes, Night Calming. They smell so good! Once I’m sure all my makeup is gone, I use a cleanser. Most of the time, I use Neutrogena’s Ultra Gentle Daily Cleanser, I love it because it leaves my skin clean but not dry. On days when I feel like I need to give my skin a deeper cleanse, and I need to clear my pores, I will use Glamglow’s SuperCleanse Clearing Cream-to-Foam Cleanser.

Next, toner! A toner will complete the cleansing of your skin, removing dust, pollution and impurities that sometimes remain even after using a cleanser. It also brings back the natural PH levels in your skin. It’s super helpful for the oily parts of my skin!

This is my favorite toner of all time, and it’s super affordable!   Thayers Witch Hazel Aloe Vera Formula Toner.

After that, it’s recommended to use some type of serum. There’s a lot of varieties out there, and it can be a bit overwhelming, try and find something that matches your skin problems, (oily skin, redness, discoloration, acne-prone, etc) and go from there!

For quite some time now, I’ve been using this Ole Henriksen Invigorating Night Transformation Gel, and it’s amazing! Truly, it starts making a difference in your skin in just a few days, it feels smoother and clearer. I do skip this step if I’m doing my morning routine though, because you shouldn’t expose your skin to the sun while wearing this.

Then, I move onto moisturizer. I tend to switch this one around a lot, because I like to try different ones. I’ll write about my favorite moisturizers more extensively in another post.

This is the one that I have really been enjoying lately.  Clinique’s Moisture Surge 72-hour replenishing hydrator , it’s gel-based, so it feels super light, it smells awesome, and it’s very refreshing! As a last step on a day-to-day basis, I like to use some kind of hydrating spray, to put the final touch on the routine!

I’m obsessed with this Mario Badescu Facial Spray! They have several kinds, but this one is my favorite, it smells like rose petals, but in a very subtle, soft way, and your skin feels so refreshed and hydrated, I spray it on all the time, like several times a day lol, and I also use it to set my makeup sometimes.

So, to recap:

Now, let’s not forget face masks! I love doing face masks, but I don’t always have time. I try to do them at least 1-2 times a week, though  I will usually do the face mask between cleanser and toner, btw!

Here I’m showing you some of my current favorites.

1.Skinfood Black Sugar Strawberry Mask Wash Off: Smells delicious! You feel like you want to eat it, but don’t! It leaves your skin so soft, it really exfoliates it without being harsh at all.

2. Pure Body Naturals Dead Sea Mud Mask: Amazing for acne! Sometimes when I get a little breakout before my period, this mask helps me a looot. It also works on hyper-pigmentation.

3. Yes to Tomatoes Detoxifying Charcoal Mud Mask: This one is also great for clearing your skin. It helps clear off acne, blackheads, marks, etc. Very deep cleanser and you can see your pores shrink after you use it! It’s a bit drying so make sure you follow with a moisturizer.

4. GLAMGLOW SUPERMUD® Activated Charcoal Treatment: Ok so first off, this one is definitely NOT for sensitive skin. Otherwise, go ahead and give it a try, it’s incredible. It does leave your skin slightly red at first, even if you don’t have sensitive skin. But it clears away in a few minutes, and then you have baby skin! It completely cleans your pores and leaves everything smooth and soft. Love it.

5. Aztec Secret – Indian Healing Clay: This one comes in powder form, and you mix it up with Apple Cider Vinegar before applying it. It REALLY tightens up your face, and makes your pores shrink SO much. It really clears out all the sebum that accumulates in the pores- like I can visually see that the junk in my pores is gone after washing off the mask.

So, that’s my current skin care routine! I truly hope it was helpful. There’s a lot more I could say about skincare, but I don’t want to overwhelm you with information. Also, by no means am I an expert of any kind, this is just the stuff that has worked for me so far. If you guys have any questions, feel free to leave them in the comments or reach out through Social Media and I’ll help the best I can. Also, remember that you need to drink water and eat fruits & veggies as well, true skincare comes from your diet!
